Gertrude Mae Geseking, 88, of Wauneta died Tuesday, September 14, 2004 at Community Hospital in McCook.
She was born, October 1, 1915 to Merlin Austin and Mary Anne (Huff) Freeman at Ottumwa, IA. She attended school in Ottumwa and Alton, IL.
On February 18, 1932 she married Herbert F. Geseking at Lancaster, MO. She had lived in Palisade since 1954.
She was a member of the First Christian Church in Ottumwa. She was a past member of the Nebraska Federated Womans Club, VFW Auxiliary,UMW and Club 13.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Herbert on October 27, 1997; one son, Terry Allen; a brother, Andrew; two sisters, Mary B. Blackman, V. Margaret Schuttlefield; two half sisters, Zelma Gunther, Emily Moore Stone.
She is survived by a sister-in-law, Lula Freeman of Arlington, VA.
Graveside services were Thursday, 11 a.m. at Fort McPherson National Cemetery, Maxwell with Jerry Beckenhauer officiating.
Memorials were to be given to the Palisade United Methodist Church.
Carpenter Breland Funeral Home of McCook was in charge of the arrangements.
