Greg Blackman, 35, died Sunday (March 14, 2004) at Indianola.
He was born February 7, 1969, to Carol (Stritt) Blackman and V. Gene Blackman in Kearney, NE. He graduated from Palisade High School in Colorado in 1987. He apprenticed as a sheet metal mechanic and enjoyed this as his trade. In November 1993, he was married to Joyce (Kensier) in Grand Junction, Colorado. To this union two children, Jordan and Breann, were born.
He returned to Nebraska making his home in Indianola since 1998. In June 2003, he married Traci Guthrie.
Greg's interests included a love of fishing, hunting, and CU football, but his real joy came from the time that he spent with his family, his children, and his friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers Clarence Stritt and Victor Blackman.
Survivors include his parents, his wife Traci, daughters Jordan and Breann, step children, Tyler, Mason, Madison, & Trey; brother Kevin Blackman, wife Amber; nephew Victor; grandmothers Alyce Mae Stritt and Lee Blackman; special family friend Dave Fjelseth; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Services were held at St. Catherine's Catholic Church on March 17, 2004, at 11:00 a.m. Burial was in St. Catherine's Cemetery with Father Nicholas Baker officiating.
Memorials may be given in his name.
