Harold E. Ike, 83, of Cambridge died Monday, October 25, 2004 at the Cambridge Manor.
On December 5, 1920 he was born to John K. and Grace L. (Aman) Ike at McCook.
He married Margie Ichyanagi on September 29, 1947 in Kobe, Japan.
He served in the U.S. Army during WWII, the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. He worked for Stevens 7-Up Bottling Company and the McCook Daily Gazette. He lived in McCook from 1966-1996, Wilsonville from 1996-2000, and Cambridge since 2000.
He was a member of the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, VFW and the American Legion.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; his wife on November 9, 1994; a brother, George; two sisters, Dorothy Burnswick and Beulah Herron.
Survivors include his daughter, Katherine and husband Chester Francis of Wilsonville; a brother Harvey Ike of Commerce City, CO; one sister, Emma Chapman of Loveland, CO; two grandchildren, Suree and husband Bobby Schilz of Milford and Johnny and wife Tina Urling of McCook; five great-grandchildren, Jessica and Sarah Fritsch, Tristan, Kenidee and Kassidy Urling.
Rosary took place Wednesday, 7 p.m. at the Carpenter Breland Funeral Home in McCook. Funeral services were Thursday, 10 a.m. at the funeral home with Father Jerel Scholl officiating. Burial took place in Riverview Cemetery.
