Harold Bud William Kircher, of rural McCook, died Tuesday, April 12, 2005 at McCook Community Hospital. He was 72 years old.
Bud was born on August 16, 1932, at McCook, to William and Mary (Hackenkamp) Kircher. He attended rural school near their family farm.
On January 27, 1953, he entered the US Army and served during the Korean Conflict. He was honorably discharged on January 27, 1955. He returned to farm south of McCook.
On October 5, 1957 he married Velma Nadine Lauer at McCook. To this union three children were born. They made their home on the family farm where he lived the remainder of his life.
He loved his family and grandchildren. He was a hard working farmer who enjoyed tilling the ground and caring for his cattle. He will be missed by all very, very much.
Preceding him in death were his parents, William and Mary Kircher; one daughter in infancy, Michele Marie Kircher; and one sister, Margaret Teresa Bennett.
Survivors include his wife, Velma of McCook; one son, Steven Ray Kircher and wife, Sharon, of McCook; one daughter, Lisa and husband, Todd Koetter, of McCook; three granddaughters, Nicole and Kayla Koetter and Jennifer Kircher and two grandsons, Chance Koetter and Logan Kircher; two sisters, Evelyn Marie Rowden of Albuquerque, NM and Arlan Frances and husband, Gerald Huntwork, of Curtis; one brother-in-law, Myron Bennett of Oxford; many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Memorials were to be given in his name.
Funeral service were Friday, April 15, 2005, 10:30 a.m., at Peace Lutheran Church with Pastor Randy Wahl officiating. Burial took place in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Carpenter Breland Funeral Home of McCook was in charge of the arrangements.
