Henry T. Kordenbrock, Jr., 89 of McCook was called home to be with the Lord he loved on Friday, November 23, 2007 at Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook.
He was born August 5, 1918 at Memphis, Tennessee to Rose (Keth) and H. T. Kordenbrock, Sr.
Henry served in the European and Pacific theaters in World War II from 1943 -1946 and the Korean Conflict from 1950-1951. He was honorably discharged as a First Lieutenant from the U.S. Army.
He attended the L.A. public schools and received degrees from Pepperdine and U.S.C. For 30 years he taught in the Los Angeles Unified School District and then served as Principal of Panorama Baptist School in Metro LA for five years.
Harry was a gentle, kind and giving person who was a servant of Jesus Christ since his acceptance of Jesus at age eleven. He was a great teacher of children and adults. He served in all capacities in his church and was known for his soul winning and intercessory prayer ministries. He always had a Friday night Bible Study in his home where he shared God’s Word with many, many people. He will be greatly missed by those whose lives he touched.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Mary; a sister Rosemary and a brother, Keth.
Survivors include his wife, Lorene (McNutt) of McCook; son Jack; granddaughters Brenda and Jenni and by three great grandchildren, R.J., Mary and Cole; and daughter-in-law Gwen.
Funeral services were at the Carpenter Breland Chapel in McCook Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Gary Howitt officiating. Burial took place at Fort McPherson National Cemetery at Maxwell, Nebraska.
Memorials were to be given to the American Stroke Association, Hillcrest Nursing Home or the McCook Baptist Church.
Carpenter Breland Funeral Home of McCook was in charge of the arrangements.
