Howard "Roger" Musgrave of McCook passed away Friday, May 23, 2014 at the Swedish Medical Center in Englewood, Colorado. He was 74 years old.
Roger was born in Indianola, Nebraska to parents, Hiram Thomas and Vida "Bernadine" (Malleck) Musgrave. He graduated from Indianola High School in 1957.
On December 15, 1960 he was united in marriage to Barbara Jean Propp at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in McCook. To this union three children were born. Roger was employed by UPS as a truck driver for 25 years until he retired in 1997.
He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and helped take care of Calvary Cemetery. His pastimes included fishing, storytelling, and spending time in his garden and yard. He was also a regular at the YMCA and volunteered countless hours at the Toy Box.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Hiram and Bernadine Musgrave; two sisters, Delores Humphrey and infant sister Agnes Musgrave; brother, Donald Musgrave; daughter-in-law, Vicki Musgrave; sister-in-law, Theresa Musgrave; and three brothers-in-law, Tom Humphrey, Benny Propp and Larry Allison.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Barbara Musgrave of McCook; children, Cheryl and husband, Don Deck, of North Platte, Tim Musgrave of Omaha, and Mary and husband, Chris Miller, of Kearney; two brothers, Ronald Musgrave and wife, Barbara, of Fountain, CO and Gary Musgrave and wife, Jonel, of Granby, CO; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Lindsay Madron and her children, Ashlyn and Carly, Jennifer (Jim) Hagan and their children, Reagan and Preslee, Kris Vontz, Nina Garrett and her son, Jason, Hannah Vontz, Michael Garrett, Courtney Musgrave, Nikki Musgrave, and Mitchell Miller; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of family and friends.
Memorials may be given in his name.
