Jack Dale Parsons, age 85, of McCook, NE passed away on Monday, April 19, 2021 at Hillcrest Caring Center in McCook.
Jack was born December 6, 1935 in McCook in parents Harry S. and Mollie (Wickman) Parsons. He was one of two sons born to this union. Jack grew up in McCook where he also attended school.
On May 6, 1954 Jack enlisted in the United States Army, proudly serving his country for the next twenty years. Jack fought during the Vietnam War, earning a Bronze Star. He honorably retired in 1974.
While stationed overseas, Jack met the love of his life, Ursula Marie (Hau) Parsons. The couple married on June 26, 1957 in Duetsheim, Germany. They became the proud parents of three children: Evelin, David, and Lynn. Following Jack’s military retirement, the family returned to McCook. At that time, Jack began working at Parker Hannifin. He retired in 1994.
Jack was a member of McCook Christian Church where he and Ursula faithfully attended. He enjoyed fishing, remodeling his home, watching television and spending time with his grandchildren and family.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, James Parsons; cousin, Buck (Colletta) Parsons, and stepbrothers and sisters.
Those left to celebrate his life include his wife, Ursula Parsons of McCook; three children, Evelin (Don) Weiss of McCook, David (Connie) Parsons of Phoenix, AZ, and Lynn (Rob) Brooks of Tehachapi, CA; nine grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and a host of extended family members and friends.
