James "Jim" Leisure

James “Jim” W. Leisure Jr., age 74, of McCook, NE passed away Sunday, June 2, 2019 at the Beaver City Manor in Beaver City, NE.

Jim was born August, 3, 1944, in St. Francis, Kansas to James Sr. and Alice (Kenning) Leisure.

Jim attended school in Bird City, Kansas and graduated from Bird City High School with the class of 1962.

Jim married Patricia (Smith) Leisure on August 10, 1996 in St. Francis. Jim opened his heart to Patricia’s two daughters, Kellie and Shellie.

Jim was an active member of the Bird City Lyons Club. He always looked forward to his yearly trips to Black Hawk with his wife, Patricia. Jim loved his pets, trap shooting, storm chasing and photography. He took care of four cemeteries in the Bird City area and worked for Jim Leach Farms for many years. He was a proud member of the United Methodist Church in Bird City.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, James Sr. and Alice Leisure and his brother-in-law, Walt Hopkins.

Jim is survived by his wife, Patricia Leisure of McCook, NE, two daughters, Kellie Simeon of Haigler, NE and Shellie Carroll of Atwood, KS, sister, JoAn Hopkins of Ft. Collins, CO, his 5 grandchildren, Makayla, Colin, Mattison, Sawyer, Jaxon and a number of nieces, nephews and extended family members.
