James Richard Reichstein, 68, died Friday (Jan. 23, 2004) at his home in Forth Worth, Texas.
He was born March 19, 1935, to Jack and Pauline Marquette (Rasser) Reichstein in McCook. He was raised in Red Cloud. He graduated from Red Cloud High School in 1953.
On July 3, 1955, he married Shirley June Lamb in Yuma County, Colo. The couple moved to McCook in 1961, where he was a dispatcher for Burlington Northern Railroad. In 1992, he was relocated to Forth Worth, where he was living at the time of his death.
He was a member of the McCook Elks Lodge.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Reichstein; his wife, Shirley in 1985; and grandson, Parker James Brooks.
Survivors include his mother, Pauline Reichstein of Red Cloud; daughter, Cindy and husband, Mitchell Soucek of Cambridge; son, Scott Reichstein of Lincoln; sister, Barbara McCreadie of Omaha; one granddaughter and two great-grandchildren.
Services are Monday, 2 p.m., at Carpenter Breland Chapel with Jerry Beckenhauer officiating. Inurnment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Family and friends are invited to a dinner at Memorial United Methodist Church prior to the service, 12 p.m.
Memorials may be given in his name.
