Jason Lee Brown of Trenton, NE went home to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday, July 7, 2016 at Community Hospital in McCook, NE. He was 35 years old.
Jason was born in Caracas, Venezuela to parents Michael L. and Carolyn L. (Young) Brown while the couple was serving as missionaries to the country. He was one of four siblings, holding the title of big brother to his 3 younger sisters.
Jason was diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis at the age of 16. He persevered with strength and dignity, completing his GED in 2011.
Jason briefly met his future wife at Madonna Rehabilitation Center in Lincoln, NE. The couple later reconnected at the Utica Care Center in Utica, NE where they were both living. Jason married Sonja (Wagner) Brown on June 16, 2012, becoming a step father to her son, Ty.
Jason loved the outdoors, whether woodworking, gardening, fishing or watching the storms roll in. He enjoyed tracking weather systems as they moved across the sky. He had a love for history that included faithfully reading or listening to his Bible. Jason never knew a stranger and was a friend to many at the nursing home where he resided.
Jason was preceded in death by his wife, Sonja Brown in 2015; and his maternal grandparents, Everett and Doris Young.
Left to mourn his passing are Jason’s loving parents, Michael and Carolyn Brown of Burwell, NE; step son, Ty Wagner of Imperial, NE; sisters Rachel and Lydia Brown of Boone, IA and Esther Brown of Burwell; father and mother in law, Bradley (Sheri) Hink-Wagner of Imperial and Darla (Jack) Baxter of Raeford, NC; and paternal grandparents, Victor and Betty Brown of Polk City, IA. Also surviving are his aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family members.
A Memorial Celebration of Jason’s life was held on Monday, July 11, 2016, 11 AM, at the Church of God in Trenton with Pastor Richard Stahly officiating.
The family has selected two memorial contributions. Either the established college fund for Ty, Direct College Saving Plan, where contributions may be made online or via email at www.ugift529.com using ugift code S40-V98, or to Gideons International, McCook Gideons, PO Box 792, McCook, NE 69001.
