Jerold Leroy Lambert, age 74, passed away January 27, 2016 at the Community Hospital in McCook.
Jerold was born to Clifford Lambert and Louise Gunderman on April 15, 1941 in Benkelman, NE. He attended school in Parks and Benkelman, graduating from Benkelman High School in 1958.
Jerold was married to Darlene Brunswick in Trenton, NE on April 6, 1963. To this union three children were born; David, Tammy, and Debbie.
Jerold enlisted in the US Air Force on April 15, 1958, honorably serving his country for 23 years until his discharge on July 31, 1981.
Jerold and Darlene lived in many different states during his time in the service. In 1981 they moved to Nebraska where they made McCook their home. Jerold worked for the US Air Force in military training and also the Department of Roads for the state of Nebraska. He was a member of the VFW, DAV, Air Force Sergeants Association, Eagles, and American Legion. Jerold enjoyed fishing, hunting, reading, and had a passion for the Kansas City Chiefs football team.
Survivors include his wife, Darlene Lambert of McCook; daughters, Debbie (Jason) Huxman of Colorado Springs, CO and Tammy (Ben) Taylor of Allegan, MI; son, David Lambert of McCook; sister, Fern Belau of Wildomar, CA; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Jerold was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, and one sister.
Visitation will be held Sunday, January 31, 2016 from 4-8 PM at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, February 1, 2016 at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home with Terry McCorkle officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery.
