John Ransom Bolio

John Ransom Bolio departed this life on October 4, 2012 at the gravel pit near McCook at the age of 66.

John was born on February 7, 1946 to Frank and Louise Lena (Warning) Bolio in Cheyenne County, (Calhoun Township), Kansas. He attended country school in Kansas through the eighth grade. He then went to work for the Paul Gorthy Ranch.

On March 17, 1968 he was united in marriage to Patricia Stagemeyer. He worked for several farms and spent some time in Florida where he worked as a maintenance man. He eventually went to work for Steve Barenberg doing farm work and pumping gravel, later transferring to the McCook pit.

John was privileged to have one daughter, Tamara Marie, whom he adored and cherished. He was excited to see her graduate and then again when she married Garrett Baldwin.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; his parents, Frank and Louise Bolio; three infant sisters, Ilene, Marianne and Adriane; brother-in-law, Larry Clark; one nephew, Jerry Clark; and mother-in-law, Doris Pettit.

He leaves to mourn his daughter, Tamara and husband, Garrett Baldwin, of Renton, WA; ex-wife and friend, Patricia Stagemeyer of Benkelman; two brothers, Franklin Bolio of St. Francis, KS and Thomas Bolio of Benkelman; two sisters, Hazel Clark of Benkelman and Helen and husband, Jim Jones, of Cheyenne, WY; sister-in-law, Beth Bolio of Benkelman; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Memorials may be given in his name in care of Beth Bolio, 1318 B Street, Benkelman, NE 69021.

The family is honoring John's wishes to be cremated. A memorial service will be Monday, October 8, 2012, 10:00 a.m., MT at the Benkelman Baptist Church with Pastor Paul Folk officiating.

Carpenter Breland Funeral Home of McCook is in charge of the arrangements.
