On November 13, 2009 John F. Rempel, was absent from the body and present with the Lord.
John was born to Peter and Marie (Friesen) Rempel, February 18, 1926 in the home near Fairbury, NE.
He trusted Christ as his Savior at the age of 12 and at the age of 16 he committed his life to Gods service. He spent his life serving the Lord as pastor, teacher and evangelist in Nebraska, South Dakota, Iowa, Kansas, Colorado, Illinois, and Wisconsin.
June 1, 1947 John married Carol Evangeline Hollingshead in Long Pine, Nebraska. They served the Lord together for over 62 years. John preached his last sermon the summer of 2009.
Johns life verse was Philippians 2:16, Holding forth the word of life, that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither labored in vain.
Preceding him in death were his parents, brother, sister and granddaughter, Dawn-Marie Carlson in 2007, an infant grandson, Kevin Rempel in 1971.
Those left behind are his wife, Carol Rempel; three sons, Daniel Rempel and wife Ellen, of McCook, Thomas Rempel and wife, Linda, of Lincoln, Steve Rempel and wife, Sally, of East Ashford, Connecticut, and one daughter, Judy Long and husband, Ted of McCook; 13 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and numerous relatives and friends.
There will be a private family memorial service in Janssen, NE.
