Jonathan Aloysius Ternes, age three, died Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, after a courageous battle.
Jonathan was born on June 23, 2004 in Wichita, Kansas to Brady L. and Lisa A. (Lilienthal) Ternes.
Jon was best known for his love of reading, writing and learning new things. He continually amazed everyone with his sign language and spelling. Considering everything he went through, he always had a positive attitude. He just grabbed his buddy "Snooby" and kept going.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandmother, Virginia.
Survivors include his mommy and daddy, Brady and Lisa Ternes of Bellevue; maternal grandparents, John (Art) and Linda Lilienthal of Culbertson; paternal grandparents, Mikael and Mary Ternes of Wichita; and great-grandparents, Wish and Betty Ternes of Conway Springs, KS.
Memorials can still be given to the Jonathan Ternes Memorial Fund, First National Bank, 2008 Pratt Avenue, Bellevue, NE 68123.
Funeral services were Saturday, May 24, 2008, 1:30 p.m., at Trinity United Methodist Church in Culbertson with Rev. Richard Melano officiating. Burial took place in the Culbertson Cemetery.
Carpenter Breland Funeral Home of McCook was in charge of the arrangements.
