Joyce Elaine Beideck

January 19, 1932 — March 24, 2012

Joyce Elaine Beideck passed away Saturday, March 24, 2012 at her home in Highland Park Retirement Community, McCook, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 80 years old.

Joyce was born at Ord, NE on January 19, 1932, to Walter John and Freida (Fuss) Foth. She graduated from Ord High School in 1950 and continued her education at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. She graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Education in 1954. After graduation, Joyce came to McCook to do her student teaching. She continued in the McCook school system teaching High School Business classes and sponsored Future Business Leaders of America for over 30 years before retiring.

On June 24, 1956, she was united in marriage to Richard "Dick" Dale Beideck in Ord. To this union three children were born. Joyce was a member of the Memorial United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. She was also a member of PEO Chapter FA, National Education Association, Nebraska State Education Association, McCook Education Association and Alpha Delta Kappa Teaching Sorority. She was also a member of the Red Hats, volunteered at the Helping Hands Thrift Shop, and was an avid Bridge player. Her family was her pride and joy and she loved spending time with them.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Walter and Freida Foth; her husband Dick Beideck on May 12, 2005; and brother, Lyle Foth.

Survivors include her children, Jennifer and husband, Paul Sline, of Appleton, WI, John Beideck of Kearney and Jeff Beideck and wife, Teresa, of Omaha; grandchildren Chase (Jenna) Beideck, Blake Beideck, Jessica, Katherine, and Abigail Sline, and Zoey Tucker; brother-in-law, Jerry Beideck and wife, Jean, of McCook; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Memorials may be given in her name.

Memorial services will be Friday, March 30, 2012, 10:30 a.m. at Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Lance Clay officiating. Inurnment will follow at the Memorial Park Columbarium.
