June Mustion

Dorothy “June” Mustion of Culbertson died Sunday, September 24, 2006, at Hillcrest Nursing Home. She was 81 years old.

June was born on August 12, 1925, at McCook, to Rue and Jenny (Loomis) Hauxwell. She graduated from Red Willow High School in 1941. She taught in rural schools for nine years.

On June 5, 1946, she married Fred Willis Mustion at the Indianola Church of Christ. To this union two children were born. They made their home near Culbertson where she was a homemaker and had an instrumental part of their farming operation.

June was a member of the Church of Christ, Ladies Missionary Club and Red Willow Ladies Extension Club. She enjoyed her flowers, music, entertaining and playing the organ at church for over 60 years. She especially loved her children and grandchildren. June left a legacy of her love for the Lord.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Rue and Jenny Hauxwell; three sisters, Hazelle, Phyllis and Violet; and three brothers, Jay, Lawrence and Clifford Hauxwell.

Survivors include her husband, Fred Mustion of Culbertson; her children, Linda Searcey and husband, Mike, of McCook, Jerry Mustion and wife, Kris, of Culbertson; seven grandchildren, Mark and wife, Sara; Lee and wife, Jenny; Nathaniel and wife, Amanda; Lynn; Angela Barber and husband, David; Jordan and Maleesha; and six great-grandchildren, Aaron, Eric, Courtney, Caleb, Matthew, Ruth, and one due in February.

Memorials may be given in her name.

Visitation will be Tuesday 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be Thursday, September 28, 2006, 10:00 a.m. at the Bethel Missionary Church in Culbertson with Rev. Richard Karr officiating. Burial will be in the Culbertson Cemetery.
