Karen Lynn Paulson, age 77, formerly of Culbertson, NE, passed away February 5, 2024 in Plattsmouth, NE where she was residing at the Prestige Care Center.
Karen was born on December 21, 1946 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to parents Melvin and Carolyn (Straitt) Kronberg. Early life was spent moving about from Iowa to New Mexico, and Arkansas for work. They then moved to Omaha, Nebraska where Karen started a structured education. She graduated from Mercy High School in Omaha in 1964.
Karen met Donald Paulson in McCook, NE in 1966 and they were married on November 30,1968. They were married for 43 years until his passing in 2011.
Karen received her associate degree from McCook Community College in 1986. She ran a licensed Day Care in Culbertson in 1986-1987. Karen then worked for the next 5 years at Wendys and 18 years as a grill cook for Max’s Drive Inn, both in McCook. She retired at 66 years of age working part time for K & B Liquor in Culbertson, NE.
Karen was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and was active in the Altar Society. She was also a member of Sunny Hill Stitchers Club and Woman’s Club and participated in FROG and Yoga. She loved sewing, wreath making, and jewelry designing.
Karen is survived by her six children, Michelle Paulson of Longmont, CO; Lowell Paulson (Tamara) of Papillion, NE; Richard Paulson of Culbertson, NE; Alicia Sennett (Dean) of Kearney, NE Joanna Paulson and significant other Scott Rudo of Omaha, NE and Donna Reeves (Patrick) of Columbus, NE; sister, Connie Parks (Marvin) of Killeen, TX; and sister in law, Joyce Kronberg of Fremont, NE. Ten grandchildren and five great grand daughters are also surviving. She will be missed by many.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald Paulson; and a brother, Steven Kronberg.
Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 409 East F Street, McCook, NE 69001.
A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, April 20, 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in McCook, NE with Father Bernard Kimminau, officiating.
Inurnment will be held in Fairview Cemetery in Atwood, KS following the Memorial Mass.
