Kathryn Atchison Jessen

Kathryn Jessen departed from this life on Monday, September 18, 2006. She was 86 years old.
Kathryn was born on August 20, 1920 to William C. and Josephine Gammon Kieffe at Crawford,
Nebraska.
Kathryn graudated from Chardon High School in May 1938 and briefly attended nursing school in Alliance.
While living in Idaho in the mid to late 50's she pursued her career in nursing, graduating in the spring of 1958. Through her life Kathryn worked as a nurse in several different hospitals and nursing homes. In October 30, 1971 she married Hans "Toby" Jessen. They retired to Palisade,
Nebraska in 1984. She was a loving, caring mother and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, baking, embroidering and reading.
Preceeding her in death were her parents; her husband; one daughter, Mary Jo Atchison, three sisters, Gwendolyn Kieffe, Genevieve Kieffe, and Josephine (Kieffe) Peterson and two brothers, Richard "Dick" Kieffe and Lewis W. "Billy" Kieffe.
Survivors include one daughter, Rhonda and husband, George Bamsey, of Omaha, two sons, William "Bill" Atchison and wife, Jeri, of Palisade and Jim Atchison of Chadron, eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be given in her name to the Alzheimers Association.
Graveside service were Friday, September 22, 2006, 11:00 a.m., M.S.T. at the Greenwood Cemetery in Chadron. Burial was in the Greenwood Cemetery.
Carpenter Breland Funeral Home of McCook was in charge of the arrangements.
