Larry Lee Payton

Larry Lee Payton died Thursday (July 13, 2006) at McCook Community Hospital. He was 58 years old.
Larry was born October 10, 1947 to Denzel and Ruth (Lorimer) Payton in McCook. He graduated from Atwood High School in Atwood, Kansas.
He married Judy K. Willey in Arapahoe on May 29, 1967. To this union four children were born, Brian, Justin, Angela and Dawn.
He worked in oil fields for over 27 years in the Kansas, Nebraska area. Larry worked at McCook Community College from 1988 until 1999 when he had to leave the job he loved do to heath reasons. He enjoyed his family and friends, especially his grandchildren, woodworking, reading and cats.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Denzel and Ruth; brother Ronnie Payton; step-father, Bernard Vrbas.
Survivors include his wife Judy Payton; sons, Brian Payton and wife, Mary and Justin Payton; daughters Angela Payton and Dawn Kalinski and husband, Troy all of McCook; brother, Gary Payton and special friend, Paula from New Mexico; and eight grandchildren.
Memorials can be given in his name.
His was cremated, there will be no visitation. Friends and family may sign his book at the funeral home.
Memorial services will be Monday, July 17, 2006, at 10:00 a.m. at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home with Pastor Eddie Wright officiating. Inurnment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
