Laura Jane (Morgan/Kummer) Eby

Laura passed away at McCook Community Hospital on Thursday December 23,2010 at the age of 87.

Laura was born June 29, 1923 in Cambridge, NE to Ansel and Norah (Telford) Baker. She attended school and graduated from Cambridge, NE.

Laura was a life long member of the American Legion.

She married Clarence B. Morgan on May 30, 1944 in Cambridge, NE of this marriage two children were born.

She married Stanley F. Kummer on July 29, 1949 in Indianola, NE of this marriage five children were born. She worked hard all her life raising her family which was the most important thing in her life.

She enjoyed crocheting and making crafts which she passed on to her children.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister Lois Caldwell; two infant sisters, husbands Clarence Morgan and Stanley Kummer, son-in-law Charlie Ortiz; daughter-in-law Carrie Morgan, granddaughter Kristie Allen; grandson Jason Allen; great-granddaughter Tianna Ortiz, and great-great-granddaughter Shantel Byrne.

Survived by two sons and five daughters: Clarence Morgan of Omaha, NE, Donna Peterson (Duane) of Agra, KS, James Kummer (Sharon), Mary Ortiz, Pat Guthrie (Lee) all of McCook, NE, Darlene Wahrman (Francis) and Diana Allen (Pat) both of Herndon, KS; sisters-in-law Theresa Stratman of Arvada, CO, Gladys Kummer of Greely, CO; 20 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and 9 great- great-grandchildren, numerous nephews and nieces and friends.

Rosary will be Monday at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home at 7:30 pm.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church in McCook, NE. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Memorial may be given in her name to American Cancer Society, MS Foundation or Diabetes Foundation.
