LaVonne "Bonnie" L. Teply, 71, of Palisade died Thursday (April 14, 2005) at Community Hospital of McCook.
On October 15, 1933 she was born in Hershey to George and Celia M. (Bodell) Marquette. As a youth the family moved to Sarben where she graduated from the Paxton High School with the class of 1950.
She joined the Methodist church as a junior in high school and sang in the choir. She attended Wesleyan University in Lincoln and North Platte Business College, graduating in 1953. She was employed at the old Memorial Hospital in North Platte and later transferred to Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
She returned to North Platte in 1972 and was employed at the Game Commission as a bookkeeper.
On May 31, 1974 she was united in marriage to Charles Teply at the Methodist Church in Paxton.
The couple farmed and ranched in Hayes County for 25 years and then retired to Palisade.
Preceding her in death were her father, George; her step-father of thirty years the late Leonard Lawyer; an infant sister, Wanda June; a nephew Randy Marquette and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Marquette.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Teply of Palisade; her mother, Celia Lawyer of North Platte; brothers, Gordon Marquette and wife Bonnie of Trenton and George Marquette and wife Joyce of Paxton; a step-brother Mike Lawyer and wife Michelle of Omaha; her aunt June Barnard of Denver and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be Tuesday, 11 a.m. at the Palisade United Methodist Church. Inurnment will be in the Sutherland Cemetery.
Memorial may are being accepted in her name.
Carpenter Breland Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
