Leota B. Jordan

Leota B. Jordan, age 80, passed away Wednesday, May 07, 2014 at Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook, Nebraska.

Leota was born May 16, 1933 in Decatur County, Kansas to parents Virgil and Elsie (Horn) Cochran. She was one of five children. She attended school in Oberlin, Kansas, graduating from Oberlin High School in 1951.

Leota married David W. Jordan on September 4, 1953 in Oberlin, Kansas. To this union two children were born, Randy and Nora.

Leota was an avid collector of dolls and Hot Wheel Cars. She also enjoyed going to auctions and watching South Park on television.

Leota was preceded in death by her parents; husband David; two sisters Wilma Mott and Neva Province; brother Leonard Cochran; and two infant twin brothers.

Leota is survived by her daughter Nora Powell of Omaha, NE; son Randy (Darla) Jordan of McCook; grandchildren Jody (Sean) Kelly of Bartley, NE, David (Heather) Jordan of McCook, Jesse (Kelly) Jordan of Stillwell, KS, Randy F. Jordan of McCook, NE, Michael (Nicole) Jordan and son Jacob of McCook, Clay (Bryn) Jordan and their children Jaxyn, Corbyn and Brekkan Jordan of Loomis, NE and Jordan Powell and Tiffany McGinnis of McCook.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 8, 2014 from 1:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home of McCook.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 9, 2014 at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home in McCook, NE with Father Gary Brethour, officiating. Burial will follow in the Oberlin Cemetery in Oberlin, Kansas.
