Lewis Leslie Hoschouer of McCook died Wednesday (April 13, 2005) at Community Hospital of McCook. He was 90 years old.
He was born to Leslie W. and Emma Julia (Orman) Hoschouer at their farm in Hayes County. He attended rural school in Hayes County, high school in Curtis and Maywood and auction school in Sterling, Colorado.
On August 13, 1942 he was united in marriage to Dorene Rucker at McCook. To this union twin daughters, Karen and Sharon were born in Denver, Colorado in 1945.
They moved to Imperial in 1946 where they purchased the Imperial Auction Sales Company which he and his father-in-law operated for over eight years. He auctioned at their weekly sales and also auctioned farm sales. He later worked at the A.S.C.S. office in Imperial before moving to Greeley, Colorado where he sold cars at DeBrown Chrysler Plymouth until retiring in 1982.
He was a member of the Greeley Elks Club, the Golf Association and the Men’s Highland Hills Golf Association. He had two hole-in-ones in golf. He also bowled in Greeley and Imperial. While in Greeley he was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and belonged to the Pitch and Pinochle Card Clubs of the church.
They moved to McCook in November of 1993 to be closer to their daughters. He attended First Congregational Church in McCook.
Survivers include his wife, Dorene of McCook; and daughters Karen Radenslaben and husband Richard of Lincoln and Sharon Frakes and husband Leland of Trenton; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Fred, Julian, Glen and Loren.
Funeral services were Saturday, 2 p.m. at the First Congregational Church in McCook with Pastor Steve King officiating. Burial took place in the Hayes Center Cemetery.
Memorials were to be given to the Heritage Senior Center or the First Congregational Church.
Carpenter Breland Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
