Lila Nadine Johnson

Lila Nadine Johnson, age 75, passed away Thursday, October 17, 2013 at Hillcrest Nursing Home.

Lila was born on April 29, 1938 in McCook to Harry H. and Lena (Hein) Schafer. She graduated from McCook High School in 1955.

On June 16, 1957 she married her high school sweetheart Richard W. Johnson in McCook. To this union three children were born.

She was focused on her home and family and enjoyed going to her grandchildren's events. In her free time she liked to do needlework, crocheting, gardening, fishing, cooking and baking. She was a Sunday School teacher and sang in the Church choir. She was involved in numerous clubs and organizations in her early years.

She was a member of St. Alban's Episcopal Church and St. Alban's Episcopal Woman.

Survivors include her husband, Richard W. Johnson of McCook; children, Teresa Slaby, and her children, Danielle and John of McCook; Joanie Eastman and husband, Mike of Lincoln and their children, Sara, Jake, and Courtney; Rick Johnson and wife, Kim, and their children, Spencer, Stuart, Lexi and her son Liam, Skyler, Lindi and Laini of McCook; brother-in-law, Dennis Johnson and wife, Loni and their family; sisters-in-law, Carol Kelley and her family and Sharon Schomberg and husband, Aaron and their family; and niece, Ellen Hanthorn and husband, Tom and their family of Lincoln.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Eleanor Coburn.

Visitation will be Sunday, October 20, 2013 from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. with the family greeting friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Carpenter Breland Funeral home in McCook.

Funeral services will be Monday, October 21, 2013, 10:00 a.m. at St. Alban's Episcopal Church in McCook with Father Rick Moon officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Memorials may be given in her name.
