Lois M. Sines

Lois M. Sines died Tuesday, September 11, 2007 at Community Hospital in McCook. She was 84 years old.

Lois was born on August 6, 1923 in Indianola, to John and Alta (Helm) McNeill. She graduated from Indianola High School in 1941 and attended McCook Jr. College.

On November 8, 1944, she married John C. Sines at Norton, Kansas. To this union three sons were born. They made their home in McCook where Lois was a homemaker. She also taught school for three years and was a magazine and book distributor for 16 years. She worked at the Army Air Base during World War II in the supply department.

Lois was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church and was also a sponsor of Methodist Youth Fellowship. She was a past member of the McCook Drove #3 BPO DOES and was a den mother for the scouting program for four years.

Preceding her in death were her parents, John and Alta McNeill; two sisters, Marcella Luther, Roberta Carter; three brothers, Lawrence and Willard McNeill and one brother in infancy.

Survivors include her husband of almost 63 years, John Sines of McCook; three sons, Michael Sines and wife, Ann, of Pierre, SD, Gary Sines and wife, Janice, of Jefferson City, MO and Steven Sines and wife, Deborah, of McCook; four grandsons, four grand-daughters and seven great-grandchildren; numerous relatives and a host of friends.

Memorials were to be given in her name.

Funeral services were Friday, September 14, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Jeff Thurman officiating. Burial took place in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Carpenter Breland Funeral Home of McCook was in charge of the arrangements.
