Loretta June (Leiter) Wallace, died June 13, 2006, at McCook Community Hospital. She was 70 years old.
She was born to Arthur Lee and Gladys (Thomas) Leiter on May 18, 1936 in Scottsbluff.
On September 30, 1989 Loretta Harris and John Wallace were married in Stapleton.
In her younger years she worked as a waitress, hospice work and Harmon's toothpick factory. Before becoming ill with cancer, she enjoyed bingo, yahtzee, and cards. She also enjoyed reading the Bible and spending time with her two dogs Sam and Luvs.
John and Loretta were both baptized in June of 2004 at Gandy Berean Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Gladys Leiter; step-dad, Chuck Cotton; two brothers, Donald and Robert Leiter; two sisters Betty Allen and Pauline Wallace.
Survivors include her husband, John Wallace of McCook; two step-sons, Darren Wallace and Johnny Wallace and wife, Deb, all of McCook; one brother, Lee Leiter and wife, Mamie, of New Orleans, LA; brother-in-law, Wilbur Allen of Stapleton; one granddaughter, Jessica Wallace of Dodge City, KS; seven step-grandchildren, six step-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and a host of friends.
Memorials can be given in her name.
Funeral services will be Saturday, June 17, 2006, 10:00 a.m. at Carpenter Breland Funeral Chapel with Frank Scott officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be today until 5:00 p.m. and Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Carpenter Breland Funeral Home of McCook is in charge of the arrangements.
