Lucille Ireland, 85, died Thursday, December 29, 2005 at Community Hospital in McCook.
She was born January 28, 1920 in Red Willow County to William and Lillian (Junker) Baumbach.
She was raised in the Ash Creek Community southeast of McCook where she attended school and was a member of St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Indianola.
In 1943 she and Walter Frank Marsh were married in Denver. He died in 1952 while they were living in Chicago. She then ran the Indianola Café© for several years before she and James Wesley Ireland of Benkelman were married in 1955 in Idaho Springs, CO. They lived in Denver where she sold cosmetics in the Walgreen's Drug Store in downtown Denver for 20 years. James died in October 1975 and she returned to McCook where she made a home for her mother until her mother's death in September 1976. In 1979 she moved to South Lyon, Michigan where she earned her real estate license and sold condominiums until she again retired in 1999 and moved to Willow Ridge in McCook where she lived until the time of her death.
She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in McCook.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her two husbands Walt and Jim; a grandson, Joey Marsh; and her sister, Virginia Stinson.
She is survived by her son Walter (Skip) and wife Mary Marsh of Indianola, grandchildren William and wife Kathy of Loveland, CO, James and wife Amanda Marsh of Omaha, Thomas and wife Monica Marsh of Odessa, MO, Shari and husband Brian Smith of Sarasota, FL, Julie and husband, Jason Pusch of Higley, AZ, Amy and husband, Paul Sweigard of Omaha; Robert and wife Krisi Marsh of Council Bluffs, IA, and David Marsh of Higley, AZ; fourteen great grandchildren; a brother, Howard Baumbach of Indianola; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Memorials were given in her name.
Rosary was Monday at 7 p.m. at Carpenter Breland Chapel in McCook. Mass of Christian Burial took place Tuesday, January 3, 2006, 10:00 a.m., at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in McCook with Father Gary Brethour officiating. Burial took place in St. Catherine's Cemetery in Indianola.
Carpenter Breland Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
