Lucille Ruby Martinez of McCook passed away Saturday, July 2, 2011 at Community Hospital. She was 66 years old.
Lucille was born on March 14, 1945, to Coral Archie and Hazel Mary (Weskamp) Matson.
She was married to Alejandro Sifuentes Martinez Sr. Lucille was a busy mother of eight children. She worked for Country Kitchen. She loved being around people and missed her co-workers after her retirement. She was known for her acceptance of anyone and never passed judgment. Her hobbies included reading and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Coral and Hazel Matson; husband, Alejandro Martinez Sr.; daughter, Cecelia Martinez; grandson, Zacharis Castillo; brothers, Chet, James, and Raymond Matson; and sisters, Ruth Moreau, Mary Pride, Emma Logan and Grace Contreras.
Survivors include her children, Theresa Perret of Lubbock, TX, and her children, Eric, Joshua and Elizabeth; Candy and husband, Carmel Martinez, of Grand Island and their children, Kellie, Ryan, Eric, Melissa Amanda and Caleb; Maria Lorena and husband, Rolland Stevens, of McCook; Alejandro C. "Alex" Martinez of McCook and his children, Alicia and Jesus; Rachel and husband, Darren Peters, of McCook and their children Shanti, Samantha, Matthew, Anthony, and Noah; Victor Martinez and Jannell Gerver and their children, Zylas, Leeya, and her mother Laurie Sutton; Elvis Martinez and Robin Sullivan of Ogallala; and Carlos Martinez and Amanda Brown of McCook and their son, Carlos, Jr.; ten great-grandchildren; brothers, Melvin Matson of McCook and Max Matson of Kenasaw; sisters, Helen Ahrens of Sealy, TX and Rosie Gonzales of Plattsmouth; numerous nieces, nephew, cousins and a host of family and friends.
