Lucille M. Putz of McCook, Nebraska died Saturday, August 2, 2008 at the Community Hospital in McCook. She was 76 years old.

Lucille was born in Blue Hill on February 1, 1932, the daughter of Donald and Ida Hoppen Leetsch. She graduated from Blue Hill High School in 1949.

On July 12, 1951 she married Emory Putz in Denver, CO. Five children were born to this union.

Lucille was a member of the Memorial United Methodist Church. She worked in the office at the Electric Hose Plant for several years. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, crossword puzzles, reading, cooking, gardening and raising house plants, and being an avid Atlanta Brave’s fan. Lucille greatly enjoyed children, especially her children as she was a Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader. Later in life she was a big fan of her grandchildren and their many sport activities.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Donald and Ida Leetsch, one brother and four sisters.

Survivors include her husband Emory of McCook; children Jim Putz and wife WandaJo of Crete; Carol Burge and husband Basil of Lafe, Arkansas; Rob Putz and wife Cherri , Patricia Unger and husband David G., and Diane Wieser and husband Joe all of McCook; two sisters Dorothy Mills and husband Bud of Omaha and LaVonne Monte of Ft. Collins, Colorado; 17 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Memorials were to be given in her name.

Funeral services were Thursday morning August 7, 2008 at 10:30 at the Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Jeff Thurman officiating. Inurnment took place Saturday at noon in the Palisade Cemetery.

Carpenter-Breland Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
