Lyle Bergin

Lyle Francis Bergin, 86, died in Canon City, Colorado, Wednesday morning, April 14, 2010.
He was born November 11, 1923, in Indianola, Nebraska to James Francis Bergin and Elma Matilda (Jensen) Bergin.
Lyle grew up in Indianola and served in World War II in the Pacific Theater. After the war he was employed for many years at the United States Bureau of Reclamation in McCook, Nebraska. He married Margaret Elizabeth Allen, April 17, 1948, in Indianola, Nebraska. They resided in Indianola until 2002, when Lyle and Margaret moved to Canon City, Colorado to be close to their family.
He is survived by Margaret, his wife of almost 62 years, of Canon City, his son David Bergin and wife Cathy, of Canon City, his daughter Janet Bergin, of Canon City and his three grandchildren, Daisy Bergin of Concordia, Kansas, Patrick Bergin and Zachary Todd of Canon City.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, LaVerna Bush.
Memorials were to be given in his name.
Funeral mass was celebrated at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Indianola, Nebraska, Monday, April 19, 2010 with Father Thomas McGuire as celebrant with burial in St. Catherine's Cemetery. Rosary took place at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home on Sunday, April 18, 2010 at 7:00 pm.
Carpenter Breland Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
