Margaret Elizabeth Bergin

Margaret Elizabeth (Allen) Bergin, 86, died in Canon City, Colorado, Thursday morning, October 14, 2010. She was born December 17, 1923, in Indianola, Nebraska to Earl Vane Allen and Daisy Maybelle (Hines) Allen.

Margaret grew up in Indianola and spent many years working in her father's pharmacy and many years working at Blume's Supermarket in Indianola. She married Lyle Francis Bergin, April 17, 1948, in Indianola, Nebraska. Lyle and Margaret were married for almost 62 years when he preceded her in death April 14, 2010. They resided in Indianola until 2002, when Lyle and Margaret moved to Canon City, Colorado to be close to their family.

Margaret enjoyed playing cards and was active in several card clubs in Indianola. She was a member of St. Catherine's Catholic Church and was active in the Altar Society.

She is survived by her son David Bergin and wife Cathy, of Canon City, her daughter Janet Bergin, of Canon City and three grandchildren, Daisy Bergin of Concordia, Kansas, Patrick Bergin and Zachary Todd of Canon City.

In addition to her husband, Lyle, Margaret was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Clarissa Allen.

Memorials are suggested in Margaret's Name.

Visitation will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. and a Rosary will be recited at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home on Monday, October 18, 2010 at 7:00 pm CST.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Indianola, Nebraska, Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at 10:00 am, CST.
