Biography

Margie Marie Eaton died Friday, February 6, 2009 at Heritage of Wauneta. She was 81 years old.

Margie was born in Rushville on August 15, 1927 to Blaine E. and Opal M. (Hotz) Talbot. She grew up and attended school in Rushville.

She married Melvin H. Eaton in Rushville on June 2, 1946. To this union three sons were born, David, Roger and Melvin Earl.
They lived in Rapid City, SD from 1955 to 2002. Following Melvin's death in 2002, Margie moved to McCook to be near David and his family.

She attended the Methodist church.

Margie was a seamstress. She made Ken & Barbie Doll clothes for all her grandchildren and she made the two oldest granddaughters' wedding dresses. She enjoyed quilting, gardening (especially roses), crafting, and storytelling. She had a huge infectious sense of humor and could especially laugh at herself.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Melvin March 2, 2002; a brother Marvie James Talbot, and a grandson, Blaine Lee Eaton.

Survivors include her sons, David "Dave" and wife Kathy of McCook, Roger and wife Connie of Chadron and Melvin and wife Lynn of Springfield, Mass.; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be given to the Dawes County 4-H.

Visitation will be at Rushville Methodist Church, Thursday morning from 9:30 a.m. until time of the service. Friends may sign her book at the Carpenter Breland Funeral Home in McCook, Monday until Wednesday noon. Condolences may be also be left on line at www.carpenterbreland.com

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. (MST) Thursday, February 12, 2009 at the Methodist Church in Rushville. Burial will be in the Rushville Fairview Cemetery.

Carpenter Breland Funeral Home of McCook is in charge of the arrangements.
