Marian R. Lieske

Marian R. Lieske, age 81, of McCook, NE passed away on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at the Good Samaritan Center in Grand Island, NE.

Marian was born September 21, 1939 In Sioux City, IA to parents Delbert E. and Ruth V. (Woods) Schuler.  The family later relocated to the McCook community where Marian attended school, graduating from McCook High School with the Class of 1957.

On September 23, 1994, Marian married Marvin Lieske in McCook where the couple also made their home.  Marian worked at the Dayco Hose Plant for many years before retiring.  She was a member of St. Alban’s Episcopal Church as well as the McCook Eagles Auxiliary.  In her free time, Marian enjoyed gardening, fishing, traveling to visit family, going to different casinos across the states, playing golf and summer days spent at her cabin at Red Willow Lake.  Marian loved spending time with her family and was especially fond of her cats.

Marian was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Marvin Lieske in 2007.

Those left to celebrate her life include her children, James (Blanche) Petsch of Kansas City, MO, Dan (Kim) Petsch of Grand Island, NE, Diane Petsch of Dallas, TX, stepson, Ryan (Tricia) Lieske of Ravenna, NE, and stepdaughter, Nicky (Dan) Smith of Lincoln, NE; sisters, Vivian Cotton of Parker, CO, and Janet Bradley of McCook; 14 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and a host of extended family members and lifelong friends.
