Marjorie B. Hall

Marjorie B. (Blake) Hall, age 94, passed away Monday, May 9, 2011 at Cambridge Memorial Hospital.

She was born February 9, 1917 on a farm 10 miles north and 1/4 mile east of Indianola in Red Willow County to Henry and Mildred (Wolfe) Callan.

She attended grade school at District 47 Zion Hill and Havana High School District 115.

She married Claude Blake on January 13, 1934 in McCook. To this union were born five children, Claudine, Dareld, Delbert, Dale and Willard. They farmed in Arthur, Frontier and Red Willow Counties. She spent many years as a cook, waitress, salesperson, and caregiver. She and her husband were houseparent's for Handicapped children. She worked at the Conoco at 2nd and B in McCook which she and her husband and son owned for many years. He preceded her in death in 1989.

On January 16, 1994, she was united in marriage to Harold Hall in McCook.

Marjorie belonged to Zion Hill Helping Hand Club, Christian Bartley Busy Bee Club, Perry Pal Club, McCook Extension Club and McCook Christian Women's Club. She volunteered at the McCook Pantry, High Plains Museum, and the Chamber of Commerce.

She was baptized and was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church of McCook where she helped with funeral dinners, furnished pies at fair time and at other functions until her health started failing.

Marjorie was a very giving person, raising her own children and helping raise other children who came to her for love and a hug, which she gave gladly.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Claude and Harold; son, Willard; brother, Wayne Callan; daughter-in-law, Joyce Blake; son-in-law, Dean Brown and step-son, Bob Hall.

Survivors include her daughter, Claudine Brown of Bell Buckle, TN; sons, Dareld Blake of Sutherland, Delbert Blake and wife, Neola of McCook, Dale Blake and wife, Roberta of Danbury; step-son, Larry Hall and wife, Janet of Hudsonville, MI; step-daughter, Janet Bremer and husband, Kip of Imperial; step-daughter-in-law, Marie Hall of Colorado Springs, CO; brothers, Neil Callan of Alliance, Delbert Callan and wife, Peggy of Loveland, CO; sister, Lila Zoltay of Firestone, CO; numerous grandchildren, step grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in her name.

Funeral services will be Thursday, May 12, 2011, 2:00 p.m. at Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev Lance Clay officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery in Indianola.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 1:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
