Marlus Ione Binderup died Saturday, November 28, 2009 at her home in Culbertson. She was 74 years old.
On December 14, 1934 she was born in Culbertson to Floyd and Florence (Thayer) McCollum. She attended Culbertson High School and lived in Culbertson area all her life.
She married Keith Chambers in Culbertson, June 13, 1959.
She married Bruce Allen Binderup in Reno, Nevada on June 6, 1977.
Through the years, Marlus worked at McCook National Bank, First National Bank and then was a part-time bookkeeper for Hagan & Sons until her retirement.
She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, VFW Auxiliary, several card & birthday clubs.
Marlus loved her children and grandchildren and enjoyed embroidery, crossword puzzles and reading books.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husbands, Keith Chambers in 1973 and Bruce Binderup in 1986; and a brother Richard McCollum.
Survivors include her children, Dennis and wife Dana Chambers and Deb and husband Bob Henthorn all of Culbertson; five grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Memorials are being accepted in her name.
Visitation will be Monday until 8 p.m. at the funeral home in McCook. Friends and family may also leave condolences on-line at www.carpenterbreland.com
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church in Culbertson with Rev. Corey Jenkins officiating. Burial will be in the Culbertson Cemetery.
