Martha Ellen Evans died at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney Monday, October 8, 2007 following a very short battle with cancer. She was 30 years old.
She was born March 11, 1977 to Darrell W. and Teresa M. Evans at Holyoke, CO. She graduated from Hayes Center High School in 1995 as the class Salutatorian. In high school she was involved with 4-H & FFA and became interested in raising cattle.
She graduated from McCook Community College in 1997 and the University of Wyoming in Laramie in 1999. She worked at the IBP Meat Plant in Lexington from 2000 2004 and then has worked for Fairbanks-Case/IH International Farm Equipment as a parts person.
She enjoyed gardening (especially growing sunflowers), photography and woodworking. Martha crafted wooden chests, and raised cattle. In Eustis, she was a volunteer T-Ball coach and served on the EMT Rescue crew..
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, and an uncle, Harold Evans.
Survivors include her parents, Darrell & Terri of Palisade; brothers, Kiley Evans of Laramie, WY, and Scott and wife Margie of Indianola; a sister LuAnn and husband Rod Rector of Wauneta; a grandfather, C.J. Donaldson of Anaheim, CA.; and a nephew Duncan & nieces, Ayla and Cameo.
Funeral services were Thursday at 10:30 at the United Methodist Church in Eustis with Pastor Fay Ann Blaylock and Rev. Tess Hufford officiating. Burial took place in the Hayes Center Cemetery.
Memorials were to be given in her name.
Carpenter Breland Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
