Martha Jane Troxell, 74, died Tuesday, June 29, 2004 at Cambridge Memorial Hospital.
Martha, the only child of Edgar Hepler and Florence Julia (Powell) Anderson, was born on December 7, 1929, in McCook. She attended McCook Public Schools.
On, April 28, 1952, she married Homer J. "Whitey" Troxell in Wauneta. In 1954, Whitey retired from the military and they made their home in McCook. Martha was a registered LPN and worked at St. Catherine's hospital; she later worked for the police department as a dispatcher for 12 years; and was then employed as a supervisor for Burns Lab until her retirement in 1992.
She was a member of the McCook Veteran's of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. She loved to fish with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her husband, Whitey, of McCook; sister-in-law, Edith Persinger of Oberlin, KS; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be given in her name to the Cambridge Hospice.
Graveside inurnment services will be Monday, July 5, 2004, at Memorial Park Cemetery with Terry McCorkle officiating. Friends may sign her book at the funeral home or go on-line at www.carpenterbreland.com to extend their condolences.
