Mary Janice Corfman

Mary Janice Corfman, age 85, passed away in Brea, CA on July 15, 2017.
Mary was born in Palisade, NE on July 17, 1931 to parents Ziba and Pearl (Smoots) Abbuhl. She was one of two children. Mary grew up in Palisade where she attended school and graduated from Palisade High School. She then went on to graduate from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln majoring in Music Education.
Mary married Robert Corfman and to this union one son was born, David. Mary was an Elementary School Teacher in Garden Grove, CA, teaching students in the 1st and 2nd grades for many years. She also enjoyed collecting antique dolls and playing with her dog Rex.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Corfman; and her brother Jack Abbuhl and sister in law, Rosie Abbuhl.
Mary is survived by her son, David Corfman and his wife Joy of Yorba Linda, CA; and nephew Bernie Abbuhl and his wife Martha of Red Oak, IA.
Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2017, 11 AM, at the Palisade Cemetery with Pastor Jean Miller officiating.
