Biography
Mary Ellen Frye, formerly of Indianola, died Sunday, September 7, 2008 at the Cambridge Manor. She was 79 years old.
She was born July 15, 1929, to John and Mary (Barrett) Nolan in Lebanon, Nebraska.
Mary was united in marriage to Clarence E. "Bud" Frye on November 19, 1949, at McCook. They made their home in Lincoln for many years where she was a homemaker and mother. They retired to Indianola in 1992.
Mary was a member of a book club and loved to read. She enjoyed spending time at their cabin at the Cambridge Lake. She also loved cooking and spending time with her grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents, John and Mary Nolan; husband, "Bud" Frye on June 5, 2000; and sister Florence Adams.
She is survived by her daughter, Marsha Jo and husband, David Curtiss of Malmo, NE; sister, Elsie and husband, Clifford Grube of Indianola, NE; two grandchildren, Jessica and husband, Christopher Massing, of Lincoln and Marisa Curtiss of Great Bend, Kansas; and seven great-grandchildren, Reagan, Ian, Madison, Lexie, River, Jazmine and Trista; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Memorials were to be given in her name.
Graveside services were Wednesday, September 10, 2008, 2:00 p.m. at the Indianola Cemetery with Jerry Beckenhauer officiating.
Carpenter Breland Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
