Mary Teresa Uerling of Lexington, formerly of Indianola, died Friday, October 31, 2008 at Plum Creek Care Center in Lexington. She was 76 years old.
Mary was born May 10, 1932 on the family farm in Red Willow County to Paul Mathias and Josephine Marie (Goodenkauf) Uerling.
At a later age, she moved to Lexington to live in a private home. While there, she helped with the house keeping, cleaning and kitchen duties. In 2000, she moved to Plum Creek Care Center.
She was a member of St. Catherine's Catholic Church. She loved to embroidery and play cards with family and friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Paul and Josephine Uerling; one sister and brother-in-law, Lora and Melvin Noe; and brother-in-law, James Rieck.
Survivors include her seven siblings, Florence Rieck of Roosevelt, Tex., David Uerling and wife, Cassie, of Fort Smith, Ark., Robert "Bob" Uerling and wife, Claire, of Indianola, Charles Uerling and wife, Betty, of Fort Smith, Retha and husband, Richard and Miller of Cody, Wyo., Joan and husband, Ralph Hinkson, of Denver, Colo., Marjorie Uerling of Omaha and Jeannie and husband, Terry Kippen, of Denver; numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Memorials were to be given in her name.
Rosary took place Thursday, November 6, 2008, 10:30 a.m. at Indianola St. Catherine's Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial followed at 11:00 a.m. with Father Thomas McGuire officiating. Burial took place in St. Catherine's Cemetery.
Carpenter Breland Funeral Home of McCook was in charge of arrangements.
