Matthew James Wiemers, age 17, of McCook, NE went to be with our Heavenly Father on October 31, 2012 in York, NE.

Matthew was born April 24, 1995 in Wheat Ridge, Colorado.

Matthew was a junior at McCook High School where he was involved in swimming and was also a member of the tennis team.

In April 2010, Matthew was confirmed in his faith at the Memorial United Methodist Church. He was committed to attending youth groups at both the Evangelical Free Church and Memorial United Methodist, both in McCook. He enjoyed listening to music.

Matthew was preceded in death by his paternal great grandparents William (Lana) Wiemers, and maternal great grandparents Ivan (Marie) Dooley and Elmer (Dolores) Little, as well as great grandparents, James (Sue) Miller.

Matthew is survived by his parents, Matt and Traci Wiemers of McCook; paternal grandparents, Gary (Barb) Wiemers of McCook; maternal grandparents, Marlan (Linda) Dooley of McCook; paternal great grandparents, Dale (Winifred) Workman of McCook; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family.

Visitation will be held Monday, November 5, 2012 from 1 to 8 PM at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home in McCook.

A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, November 6, 2012, 10:30 AM, at the Memorial United Methodist Church with Pastor Lance Clay and Pastor Scott Moyer officiating.

Burial will follow the funeral service in Memorial Park Cemetery, McCook.

Memorial’s are suggested to the Matthew Wiemer’s Memorial Fund and may be designated to the Memorial United Methodist Church.
