Michael Jay Scott passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at his rural home at 50 years old.
Mike was born on January 29, 1961, in San Diego, CA to Norman Jay and Karen Lynne (Richards) Scott.
Mike attended school in California before moving to McCook with his family in 1977.
He married Linda McDowell in McCook, and they lived many years in Colorado.
When their daughter Tasia was born, she was the light of his life. He was a proud father and loved her dearly.
Mike was a natural with mechanics, and worked with the Colorado Department of Transportation for several years as a snowplow operator. He worked the summers as a heavy equipment operator.
Mike cherished his time on the farm with his Aunt Delores and Uncle Harold Richards.
He loved to have fun, spending time with loved ones, friends and family; skiing with his daughter, loved music, animals, woodworking and cooking. He was a hunter, fisherman, and he had a legendary green thumb.
Preceding him in death were his father, Norman Jay Scott; maternal grandparents, Harold Lee and Halycon Mae Richards and paternal grandparents, Glen and Wretha Scott.
Survivors include his daughter, Tasia Scott of Boulder, CO; mother, Karen Scott of McCook; sister, Michele Scott of Pewaukee, WI; niece, Heather Russell and nephew, Eric Russell; numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins.
Memorials may be given in his name.
