Mike Chris Sitzman

Michael Chris Sitzman, age 52, of Culbertson, NE passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2013 in McCook, NE with his family by his side.

Mike was born June 20, 1960 to parents William "Bill" and Sharon (Longsine) Sitzman in McCook. He was one of three siblings. The family made their home in Culbertson were Mike attended school, graduating from Culbertson High School in 1978. Mike attended Sunday School as a youngster at the Trinity United Methodist Church also in Culbertson.

Mike was employed by Parker Hannifin where he worked as a cover operator from 1978 to 2007. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, working cattle, Husker football, boating and camping, playing pickle cards and lottery scratch cards. He played Men's League Softball for many years and also enjoyed golfing.

Mike was preceded in death by his mother, Sharon Sitzman, who lost her battle with cancer in 2011; maternal grandparents Floyd (Neva) Longsine; and paternal grandparents Henry (Helen) Sitzman.

He is survived by his father Bill and wife Pat Sitzman, McCook; sister Deb (Dave) Korte of Johnson Lake, NE; brother Scott (Jennifer) Sitzman of Hugo, CO and their children Logan and Rhegan; niece Whitney (Mike) Schoenemann of McCook; nephew Lance Korte of McCook; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation will be held Thursday, January 31, 2013 from 2 to 8 PM at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home in McCook, with family present to greet friends from 4 to 8 PM.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, February 1, 2013 at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Culbertson with Rev John Lewis and Rev Lance Clay officiating. Burial will follow in the Culbertson Cemetery.
