Mildred Berniece Heinbigner

Mildred Berniece Heinbigner died Sunday, July 17, 2005 at McCook Community Hospital. She was 76 years old.

Mildred was born on December 20, 1928, at Stratton, to Joseph M. and Grace H. (Wilkinson) Schilz. She attended Culbertson Public Schools.

She married Orville Paul Hazelton. He preceded her in death in1957. On July 1, 1961, she married Jake Heinbigner in Culbertson. They made their home in Culbertson where Mildred was a busy homemaker.

Mildred was a member of the Culbertson United Methodist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and taking car rides.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Joseph and Grace Schilz; her two husbands, Orville Hazelton and Jake Heinbigner; two brothers, Joe Jr. and Alvin; and four sisters, Hazel, Darlene, Opal, and Hertha.

Survivors include her four daughters, Linda and husband, Bill Smitherman, of Bristol, RI, June and husband, Rick McDonald, of Culbertson, Cathy and husband, Tom Golden, of Charlotte, NC, and Sue Heinbigner of Culbertson; one brother, Delbert Schilz and wife, Beverly, of Denver, CO; grandchildren, Jessica and Sarah Golden, Tyson Smitherman and wife, Jessica, Justin Smitherman and wife, Shannon, Melissa and husband, Nick Weiss, Christina McDonald, A.J. McDonald and great-grandson, Jacob Weiss and great-granddaughter Lisha Smitherman; special niece Mary and husband, Larry Fahrenbruch, of Atwood, KS and their children, Janae and husband, Pablo Martinez and Shawn, Janelle, B.J. and Tarry.

Memorials were to be given in her name.

Funeral service were Thursday, July 21, 2005, 11:00 a.m. at the Culbertson United Methodist Church with Pastor Daniel Spearow officiating. Burial took place in the Culbertson Cemetery.

Carpenter Breland Funeral Home of McCook was in charge of the arrangements.
