Nellie J. Newberry, 92, died Friday, December 17, 2004 at Cambridge Memorial Hospital in Cambridge.
She was born August 29, 1912 to Paul and Charlotte (Crocker) Jussel in Red Willow County. She attended Red Willow School and lived all her life in this area.
On January 25, 1939 she married Kenneth Doran Newberry at Indianola. She worked at the Elks Club as a chef for 27 years.
She was a member of St. Catherines Catholic Church and Altar Society. She enjoyed her family and playing cards and bingo.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Kenneth in 1983; and an infant daughter Ida Marie; a brother Clifford Jussel; two half brothers, Fred Reiners and Lawrence Reiners.
Survivors include: a son, Paul Newberry and wife Jane of Indianola and a daughter, Charlene Banzhaf and husband Harold of Indianola; seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Memorials are being accepted in her name.
Rosary will be Tuesday, 7 p.m. at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home in McCook.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, 10 a.m. at St Catherines Catholic Church in Indianola with Father Nicholas Baker officiating. Burial will be in St. Catherines Cemetery at Indianola.
Visitation will be Monday 9 a.m. 6 p.m. and Tuesday 9 a.m. until time of Rosary. Friends may also go online at www.carpenterbreland.com to extend condolences.
