Olive Pearl Harris, 99, died, Tuesday (January 13, 2004) at Hillcrest Nursing Home.
She was born Aug. 26, 1904, in Ottumwa, Iowa to James and Georgia Payne. She moved to Western Nebraska as a young child, grew up, married and spent her adult life in the area. She was a housewife who loved doing things for her many friends.
She was active in the Burlington Vets and St. Alban's Church and was an avid antique collector.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy L. Harris in 1972; and her young son, Jimmy Lee in 1927.
Survivors include two cousins, Helen Lindberg of Othello, Wash., and Franceine Pinneo of Pinetop, Ariz. She had a special family relationship and was cared for by Mike and Vicki Russell of Waynesville, N.C. She was loved by all who knew her.
Funeral services were Monday, 10 a.m. at St. Alban's Episcopal Church with the Rev. R. Sam Williams officiating. Burial took place in the Wilsonville Cemetery.
Memorials were to be given to St. Alban's Episcopal Church in McCook.
Carpenter Breland Funeral Home of McCook was in charge of the arrangements.
