Biography

Oma Orvilla Stott died Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at McCook Community Hospital. She was 90.

She was born in Benkelman to Justin Evans and Zella Leona (Rickard) Davis on May 18, 1919. She graduated from McCook High School in 1937.

She married Ralph Parsons in Oberlin on February 7, 1937. To this union three children were born. Ralph preceded her in death in 1960. She later married Don Stott in Reno, Nevada on October 12, 1962. Oma worked as a clerk for the state of California in the Department of Motor Vehicles for several years. She lived in California for many years before returning to McCook in 1999 to be closer to her family.

She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church and Life Light Bible Study Group, Better Business Women, First & Last Dancers, Rebekahs, and Epsilon Sigma Alpha International. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and porcelain dolls.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Justin and Zella Davis; her husbands, Ralph Parsons in 1960 and Don Stott in 1978; daughter, Barbara Spencer; two sisters, Marquerite Simons and Jessie Leona Sleusser; and one brother, Dale "Baldy" Davis.

She is survived by her two sons, Ronald Parsons and wife, Maryellen of Sacramento, CA and Robert "Buck" Parsons and wife, Colletta of McCook; two step-sons, Don Stott and wife, Cathy, and Robert Stott all of Sacramento, CA; one brother, Don Davis and wife, Mary of Utah; one sister, Daisy Mae Fruend of Nowata, OK; 10 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be given in her name to St. Judes or KNGN Radio.

Funeral services will be Saturday, June 20, 2009, 10:30 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church with Pastor Paul Warneke officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be today until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Friends may send condolences online at www.carpenterbreland.com.
