Orvil D. Gray died Friday (May 20, 2005) at McCook Community Hospital in McCook. He was 76 years old.
Orvil was born on November 23, 1928, to David A. and Zula M. (Ayers) Gray in Culbertson. He graduated from Culbertson High School in 1947 and attended 31/2 years of college.
On June 1, 1957, he married Clara J. Rose in McCook. They lived on a farm in the Culbertson community all their married life. He was living at Hillcrest Nursing Home at the time of his death.
He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in McCook. In his free time he loved working in his garden.
He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Zula Gray; his wife, Clara J. Gray on June 11, 1996; one brother Edward Gray; and two sisters Velma Pollman and Lula M. Wilson.
Survivors include sister-in-law Catherine Rose of McCook, and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials were to be given in his name to the Culbertson Ambulance fund or to Hillcrest Nursing Home.
Rosary took place Sunday, May 22, 2005 at 6:30 p.m. at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home. Mass of Christian burial was Monday, May 23, 2005, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Patricks Catholic Church with Father Jerel Scholl officiating.
Burial took place in the Culbertson Cemetery in Culbertson.
Carpenter Breland Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
