Patricia Jane Wilson of rural Culbertson died Thursday, July 16, 2009 at Great Plains Regional Medical Center in North Platte after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 60 years old.
Patricia was born on August 30, 1948 in Stamford, Conn. to August T. and Jane (Johnston) Albeke. She graduated from Englewood High School, Englewood, Colorado in 1966 and continued her education at Parks School of Business graduating in 1967.
On November 29, 1967, she was united in marriage to Darwin Lee Wilson at Denver, Colorado. To this union two children, Trevor and Diane, were born. They moved to a farm north of Culbertson in 1967. Patricia was an instrumental part of the farming operation as well as a Resident Support Staff for Southwest Area Training Service in McCook.
She loved working in her yard and flower garden, genealogy research, an avid Nebraska Husker football fan as well as a Yankee fan, and her dogs. She especially enjoyed the time spent with her grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents, August and Jane Albeke; two brothers, Elliot and Neil Albeke; one sister, Judy Loomis; and four brothers-in-law, Leonard Walker, Reed Loomis, Virgil Wilson and Jerry Felker.
Survivors include her husband of 41 years, Darwin Wilson of Culbertson; son, Trevor Wilson and wife, JoAnn, of Mt. Orab, Ohio; daughter, Diane and husband, Daniel Adelman, of Pierce; two brothers, Whitney Albeke and wife, Donna, of Rhode Island and Richard Albeke of Denver; one sister, Susan Johnson of Denver; brothers and sisters-in-law, Velma Walker, Vonda (Loomis) Gigax and husband, Paul, Norma Wilson, Shirley Bishop and husband, Jack, Sharon Felker, and Dwaine Wilson and wife, Kay; five grandchildren, Isaac, Samantha, Zane, Jenna and Sophie; hundreds of nieces and nephews, relatives, and a host of friends.
Memorials were to be given in her name.
Memorial services were Tuesday, July 21, 2009, 10:30 a.m. at Carpenter Breland Chapel with Jerry Beckenhauer officiating, with inurnment in the Culbertson Cemetery.
Carpenter Breland Funeral Home of McCook was in charge of the arrangements.
