Paul G Ahrens

Paul G Ahrens, age 93, of McCook, NE passed away on Saturday, March 19th, 2022 surrounded by family at his home in Kinship Pointe in McCook.

Paul was born on October 6th, 1928 in Shelton, NE to parents Leopold and Emma (Arnold) Ahrens.

On November 6th, 1949, Paul married the love of his life, Ruby, in Shelton NE.  The couple recently celebrated seventy-two years of marriage.  There were the proud parents of two children, Ronald Paul and Gloria Jean.

Paul was a McCook firefighter and EMT, owned multiple small businesses in the McCook area, including a TV repair business, small engine services, and liquor store.  He also held multiple jobs over the years at local hardware and retail stores.

He enjoyed spending time with Ruby and his grandsons, taking them on many fishing and camping trips.  As the grandsons grew older, he started an annual “guys camping trip” that his son-in-law, grandsons and great grandsons continue in his memory.

Paul was preceded in death by his wife Ruby, son Ronald, a sister Katie Hadenfeldt, brothers Herman, Martin, and Walter.

Those left to celebrate his life include his daughter, Jean (Ron) Rogers of McCook; three grandchildren, Brent (Candi) Rogers of McCook, Marshal (Bekki) Rogers of Lincoln, and Brock (Mindy) Rogers of McCook; fourteen great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.
